Offered for sale here is a stunning example of the early batches of the Ref. 16800, so called ‘MK1’ with matte dial.
The original and untouched dial presents some wear and aging, but it features a lovely, heavy, and original pumpkin patina. The original hands show a matching patina too.
The original black-back, Serif font, bezel insert has aged to a stunning brown/mocha and the original tritium pearl/pip has a matching patina.
This combo gives the watch tons of character and stunning looks.
The case remains thick with no major dents or scratches. The case back is in this same condition.
It comes suited on the original Rolex Oyster 93150 solid links stainless steel bracelet with 593 end links and correct clasp code I5 (1984) and divers’ extension that presents very little stretch for its age.
Furthermore, it comes as a full set including outer box, inner box, manual, hang tag, guarantee holder, service invoice from 02/2023 and original stamped guarantee papers showing it was sold by a Rolex AD in the USA.
Indeed, this is a great opportunity to get a great example of a transitional model that is only but getting more and more attention.
