1979 Rolex Datejust Ref. 16030 Gray 'Buckley Dial'

First released in 1945, it marked forty years of Rolex timepieces. Today, it holds a spot in even the most exclusive collections, and remains one of the most popular timepieces among both men and women.

 

Loved for its sporty yet elegant design, the present-day Datejust is available in varied sizes, many case and bezel metals, and with seemingly unlimited dials.

Here is offered a classic design Rolex Datejust, the reference 16030, with a beautiful matte gray so called rare and sough-after collectors ‘Buckley’ dial due to its big painted roman numerals.

 

With a nice stainless steel fluted bezel, a beautiful dial with big printed roman numerals, and perfectly matching yellow patina lume plots, this flawless piece in excellent condition is the perfect daily beater.

 

Cased in a 36mm excluding the original crown, this all stainless steel case shows some marks due to light use but remains in a near mint condition. The waterproof case back also remains sharp with very few marks. The original acrylic crystal has no scratches at all.

 

It is suited on a Rolex 78360/558 folded links bracelet that remains in good condition with no stretch.

 

The cal. 3035 has been fully serviced and it is running great and keeping good time.
