Offered for sale here is a Rolex Datejust Ref. 16030 with a lovely, rare, and very sought-after taupe ‘Ghost’ dial which dates to 1979.
The sunburst taupe ‘Ghost’ dial, nicknamed like this as the white dial printings “disappear” like dissolving with the light background under certain angles, is preserved in great condition, showing little wear. The lume plots remain intact and feature a lovely vivid patina hue that matches perfectly with that on the original hands.
The stainless steel case remains in good condition, preserved thick, and showing normal signs from use. The case back remains in the same condition. The stainless steel bezel remains crisp, letting show some normal marks from wear.
It is suited on its original Rolex Jubilee 62510H solid links stainless steel bracelet with 555 end links that presents normal wear and little stretch for its age.
The original acrylic crystal has some minor marks that could be easily buffed away.
It is running well and keeping time, although service history is unknown.
This is indeed a great opportunity to catch a Datejust with stunning ‘Ghost’ dial as these are being caught by savvy collectors and remain in their collections.
Macros of dial and case are available under request.
