Offered for sale here is a Rolex Datejust Ref. 16014 from 1979.
The sunburst dial shows some wear, especially around the hour lume plots, which present a lovely mustard patina hue, giving the watch so much character, and features a vivid electric blue color which is simply lovely. The rest of the dial is in great shape, with only this already described chipping around the lume plots and with only two other small ones between 5 and 6 and at 9. The rest is on the crystal. The original hands show a matching patina.
The stainless steel case remains thick and sharp, presenting only minor signs of normal wear and featuring factory finishes. The original, fluted 18K white gold bezel remains in good shape. The case back is found in the same condition, with some marks of use.
The automatic cal. 3035 with quick-set date function is running great and keeping time, as it has been fully serviced in April 2024.
The original acrylic crystal has some superficial scratches that can be easily buffed away if wanted.
It is suited on its original Rolex Jubilee bracelet 62510H with 555 end links and clasp code D that shows normal stretch and, again, minor signs of wear.
Movement and inner case back pictures, as well as service pictures are available under request.
