The watch offered here for sale is a two-tone Ref. 1601 Datejust from 1975.
The sunburst finish ‘Pie-Pan’ champagne dial shows some wear around the edges of the right side, but most of it remains clean for its age. All lume plots are complete and present, having aged to a dark gray hue, matching with that on the hands, that also show some nice patina on the gold.
The stainless steel case remains in good, thick condition, showing minor signs of wear and presenting sharp bevels.
The 18K yellow gold fluted bezel features a stunning purple patina, giving the watch tons character.
The waterproof case back remains in the same condition, presenting normal signs of use.
The original acrylic crystal remains in great shape.
The Rolex automatic cal. 1570 is running well and keeping time, probably having been serviced in 1982 according to the watchmakers’ marks inside the case back.
It is suited on a 20mm black leather strap with cream stitching, matching perfectly with the watch.
Overall, an honest original vintage Rolex watch that is ready to be worn and enjoyed.
Macros of dial and case are available under request.
