Offered here for sale is a beautiful vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, the reference 1500, with ‘Sigma’ dial in stunning condition. At 6’clock, to each side of the T SWISS T printing, we can see the Sigma sign that was used by the dial manufactures to note that the hour markers and hands are made from white gold rather than steel, as more commonly seen.
The silver sunburst ‘Sigma’ dial is very crisp and flawless. The original lume plots remain big and complete and have aged into a stunning pumpkin patina. The original hands are matching.
The 34mm excluding the original crown all stainless steel case remains in thick, sharp condition, most probably remaining unpolished or with a very old sleeve polishing. The stainless steel smooth bezel remains in the same condition, letting show some signs of wear. The waterproof case back shows some signs, again, from normal use.
The original acrylic crystal with cyclops has some minor, superficial scratches that could be easily buffed away.
The watch is running well and keeping time, although service history is unknown.
It is suited on a 19mm Rolex Riveted stainless steel bracelet with 57 end links that shows light stretch for its age.
