Offered for sale is an extremely beautiful of a Rolex Submariner ref. 1680 ‘Red Letter’ or ‘Single Red’ with MK 4 dial.
The dial just speaks for itself. The condition of the dial is just stunning, flawless in every part with no blemishes, stains, or marks. It shows a textured black matte that contrasts with the red accent of the Submariner printing and the vanilla patina of the untouched hour markers. The hands present a noticeably darker tone, giving the watch tons of character.
The original and period correct, rare, fat font MK 3 'Hooked 5' – MK 5.0 ‘accentuated Serifs’ insert is also stunning. It remains in flawless condition presenting no marks, and it has aged to a lovely purple-ish hue. The original pip/pearl has aged to a lovely, heavy patina matching with that on the hands.
The previously polished case remains thick, presenting a factory-like finish with no dents or mayor scratches. The case back shows some normal wear marks.
The original acrylic crystal with cyclops lens remains in great shape too.
It comes suited the original 20mm Rolex Oyster 9315 folded links stainless steel bracelet with 380 end links, clasp code date 4/72 and divers’ extension that shows hardly any stretch at all, being something very rare with these folded links type of bracelets.
The watch is running great and keeping time, as it was fully serviced in 2019.
Furthermore, it is presented as a full set which includes outer box with reference sticker, inner box, hang tags, wallet, translation leaflets and stamped guarantee papers.
