The watch offered here for sale is a two-tone Ref. 1601 Datejust from 1972.
The sunburst finish ‘Pie-Pan’ champagne dial remains in stunning condition. All lume plots are complete and present, having aged to a creamy patina hue. The hour hand presents a matching patina, and the minutes hand has lost the tritium, but the similar color of the dial beneath it has the effect like if it was still present. The handset has aged in a lovely way.
The stainless steel case remains in good, thick condition, showing normal signs of wear for its age. The case back remains in the same condition. The 18K yellow gold fluted bezel is also in great shape, with no mayor dents or scratches, featuring a lovely and subtle purple patina.
The original acrylic crystal remains clean.
The Rolex automatic cal. 1570 is running well and keeping time, as it has been recently serviced in February 2024.
It is suited on its original Rolex Jubilee 62523 HD 18 stainless steel and 18k yellow gold bracelet with 455 end links and clasp code A that shows normal stretch and use for its age.
Overall, an honest original vintage Rolex watch that is ready to be worn and enjoyed.
Macros of dial and case are available under request, as well as service pictures.
