2016 Rolex Submariner Ref. 114060 'No Date' Unpolished Full Set

The new vintage. The purest of them all. The Submariner’s icon. Rolex’s icon. There’s no wonder why the Rolex Submariner ‘No Date’ has become a sough-after watch for most watch appreciators.

 

The Submariner was originally born in 1954 with the Ref. 6204 featuring a ‘No Date’ dial. After some other references, the infamous Ref. 5513 was introduced in 1962 which eventually evolved to wearing dials with ‘maxi’ hour markers. Later in 1990, the Ref. 14060 was introduced and 8 years later it was modified to the Ref. 14060M (which became a Certified Chronometer adding two extra lines to the text on the dial). In 2012, Rolex then introduced the ceramic Ref. 114060.

 

The 114060 has a lot that evokes the spirit of the original Sub from 1954 but it has been modernized a bit in comparison with the precedent 14060M like, for example, with the introduction of a black ceramic bezel with platinum inserts or ‘Cerachrom’.

 

A few other changes made to the Ref. 114060 were the introduction of the Chromalight luminous material to the hands and dial glowing in blue rather than green.

 

Finally, the bracelet on the Rolex Submariner Ref. 114060 also saw an improvement; it’s now fitted with the same Oyster bracelet with internal glide-lock clasp and extension system as the Rolex Submariner Date 116610LN.

The example presented here is in lovely original condition. The black glossy dial is perfect, with no blemishes, spotting or stains contrasting perfectly with the applied indices.

 

The ceramic bezel is also completely perfect.

 

The stainless-steel case is in unpolished condition showing sharp bevels and no mayor dents or scratches.

 

It is running great and keeping time although service history is unknown.

 

It comes suited on the original 20mm Rolex Oyster stainless-steel bracelet with internal glide-lock clasp and extension system.

 

It is presented as a full kit; original boxes, original signed guarantee card (showing it was sold by a jeweler in the UK back in 2016), manuals, booklets, hang tags, bezel protection and wallet.
