2000 Rolex Daytona Ref. 116520 P-Series 'Cream dial' Full Set

Offered for sale here is an extremely beautiful example of a Rolex Daytona Cosmograph Panna. Belonging to the P serial range, it is part of the first series of ref. 116520 that was released just after the so called Rolex Zenith Ref. 16520. These MK1s ref. 116520 receive the nick name “cream dial” due to the champagne tone the dial acquires only in this batch, making it very rare and the most sough-after for savvy collectors.

Being the most sough-after version, this example here is in extraordinarily good shape, with little aging. The 40mm excluding the original crown and the screw pushers stainless steel case remains thick and robust, as well as the Oyster bracelet with solid links and end links.

The cream dial in this example hasn’t acquired too much tone but it is a bone white color.

It is presented as a full set, including the original guarantee stamped papers confirming the sale in 2002 by Relojes Rolex de España. The story behind this watch is cool; the original owner had the early version Ref. 16520 which sent to Rolex Spain for a service. The package got lost during its way from Rolex Spain to the owner after service and Rolex offered in compensation the new version of the Daytona at the moment, the MK1 Ref. 116520. This is why the guarantee papers show the sale by Rolex Spain and not by any AD. This makes it indeed rare and valuable. The set also included the outer box with reference sticker, inner box, wallet, calendar, and manuals.
