This early Non-Serif 5513 example offered here for sale dates to 1971.
It comes directly from the son of the original owner. The original owner passed away and his son inherited it. However, he wasn’t much into watches as his dad, so he decided to put it in a drawer for years until it was discovered and brought back to life by us.
Under the original scratched crystal, we can find a lovely, original black matte dial with clean, vivid yellow patina lume plots with no blackening or missing tritium. The original hands have aged to a lighter tone and are slightly corroded, giving the watch tons of character.
The original bezel insert is in great shape too, preserving the original tritium pearl that shows some patina.
The bezel remains unpolished with very sharp edges.
The 40mm stainless steel case also remains unpolished, showing sharp bevels with factory finish. The crown guards are also unpolished, as well as the case back that features sharp teeth.
It is suited on the original 20mm Rolex Oyster stainless-steel bracelet 9315 with 280 end links and 1/72 date stamp and PATETED divers’ extension that also remains unpolished and with very little stretch for its age.
The watch is running well and keeping excellent time although service history is unknown.
If this wasn’t enough, it is presented as a full set which includes all of the original accessories very well preserved; outer box with reference number sticker, inner box, manual, card, wallet, anchor, and stamped guarantee papers that show it was sold by Relojes Rolex de España, S.A. in 1972, country where we are based and where we bought it from the son of the original owner.
This is indeed a great opportunity to own a piece of Rolex history in collectors’ condition.
