The current model, Scafograf 200, is the sophomore model of the series and offers water resistance of up to 200 meters.
The present watch features a beautiful and heavy patina dial with gilt markings of the Eberhard brand, the model and the depth rating. The hour markers present big triangles at 3, 6, 9 and 12, allowing for better visibility when deep in the ocean, and they were made of tritium. Adding an element of intrigue, the designation of tritium is not included on the dial, likely because it was created in a transitionary period of which manufacturers switched from radium to tritium. The hands, with an enlarged diamond arrow for the hour hand, an elongated minute hand and a lollipop-shaped second hand, match the verdigris green patina of the indexes and rest of the dial surface, proving the watch was used for its purpose and adding so much character to it.
The black bezel, a newly-added feature to the Scafograf 200, is rotatable and preserved in excellent condition, with tritium 12 hour marker aged to a lovely orange color.
The movement of the watch is based on a Felsa 1560 and is nicely finished by Eberhard.
The 39mm stainless steel case remains unpolished preserving sharp bevels. The case back is also unpolished letting all engravings visible.
According to our research, the Scafograf 200 reference 11536 was produced only with 300 pieces. The current timepiece is numbered 50, signifying that it is one of the first examples of the series. The vintage Scafograf 200 is by all means an intriguing timepiece and continues to be widely adored by collectors.
