Offered for sale here is a classic design of a Rolex Datejust Ref. 16014 from 1983 in extraordinary condition.
The silver sunburst dial is flawless, with no signs of wear at all. The complete, puffy, rounded lume plots have aged to a vivid pumpkin patina hue. The original hands are matching perfectly.
The case is thick and very sharp, with only light signs of wear. The case back remains in the same condition. The fluted white gold bezel shows only minor signs of wear.
It is suited on its original Rolex Oyster 78360 solid links stainless steel bracelet with 558 end links and clasp code H that is preserved in unpolished condition, with very light wear and with no stretch at all.
The original acrylic crystal remains clean.
The watch is running great and keeping time, although service history is unknown.
It is presented as a full set which includes outer box with reference sticker, inner box, calendar, wallet, travel pouch, translation leaflet, manual, hang tags, waterproof test result, and original punched guarantee papers showing it was sold by a Rolex retailer in Zhongshan Road, Taichung City, a mayor city in Taiwan, which show on the outer side of them the import tax label with Tax Id (TFC No.) and the dealers’ embossed seal.
Some watches ask for rotation. This one doesn’t. With its proportions, its pedigree, and its preserved soul, this 16014 doesn’t need a drawer full of companions. It’s the kind of piece you could build a collection around—or decide you don’t need one at all.
Macros of the dial and case are available under request.
