Offered for sale here is a gorgeous example of a MK I Rolex Submariner ref. 16800. This piece dates from 1983 and it’s part of the first batches of this transitional model with matte dials.
The dial is completely flawless, featuring a lovely creamy patina hue on the lume plots which matches perfectly with that on the hands.
The original rotating diver bezel is also in great condition too, showing a faded, almost ghost, insert with a matching patina pearl.
The stainless steel case is very thick and sharp, most probably unpolished, with only some normal signs of wear throughout the years. The case back remains in the same condition.
The original sapphire crystal is in perfect conditions.
It is in full working order and keeping time, although service history is unknown.
It comes suited on its original 20mm Rolex Oyster 93150 stainless steel bracelet with 593 end links and clasp code G that shows very little stretch.
Macros of the dial and case are available under request.
