This example offered here is a Rolex Datejust Ref. 1601 in 18K Yellow Gold and dates to 1969.
It features a lovely ‘no lume’ black matte dial in great condition with a charming, texturized patina that lets show some deep 'tropicalized' brown hints. The gilt printings are clearly visible with no missing paint. The original golden hands have blackened luminous material.
The thick 18k yellow gold case is excellent showing a bright sleeve polished finish with normal signs of wear from use. The 18k yellow gold bezel is sharp too, showing only light wear from use. The case back remains in the same condition. The hallmark is clearly present. The inner case back has the correct hallmarks and stamps.
The watch comes fitted on an unworn handmade leather strap with golden buckle.
The watch is running great and keeping time, as it has been recently serviced.
The acrylic crystal has some very light marks that could be easily buffed away.
Macros of dial and case are available under request, as well as inner case back, movement and service pictures.
