This example offered here for sale dates to 1978, and it’s part of the first batch of ‘Maxi dials’, nicknamed after the oversized lume plots.
It features a flawless 4-liner black matte dial with lovely warm, creamy patina lume plots and original matching hands.
The original, fat font, bezel insert is in stunning new condition too, having faded to a beautiful blue hue and preserving the original matching patina pearl.
The 40mm stainless steel case is in strong condition, preserved thick and sharp, with no mayor signs of wear. Same condition relates to the case back.
The watch is running well and keeping time, although service history is unknown.
It comes suited on the original Rolex Oyster 9315 folded links stainless steel bracelet with 380 end links, period correct clasp code VC (1978) and PATENTED divers’ extension. The bracelet shows normal stretch for its age.
Indeed, a rare watch in stunning condition.
Do not miss it because once it’s gone, it will be gone forever.
