1978 Rolex Datejust Ref. 16014 Silver 'Linen' dial

First released in 1945, it marked forty years of Rolex timepieces. Today, it holds a spot in even the most exclusive collections and remains one of the most popular timepieces among both men and women.

 

Loved for its sporty yet elegant design, the present-day Datejust is available in varied sizes, many case and bezel metals, and with seemingly unlimited dials.

 

The reference 16014 was in production from 1977 to 1988.

This example offered here is a Rolex Datejust ref. 16014 with silver ‘Linen’ dial that dates to 1978.

 

The silver ‘Linen’ dial has aged to a yellowy patina hue. It features complete lume plots that have aged to a pumpkin patina hue. The original handset has a matching patina. Indeed, a dial with tons of character.

 

The case is presented in strong condition, remaining thick and sharp. It shows normal wear. The case back remains in the same condition. The 18K white gold bezel also presents normal signs of use.

 

The watch comes on a Rolex Jubilee folded links stainless steel bracelet with 55 end links that presents stretch and wear.

 

The watch is running great and keeping time, as it has been fully serviced recently.
