The Date watch is most widely known for its slightly smaller 34mm Oyster case and 19mm bracelet. While its design is very similar to that of the classic Datejust watch, the difference lies in the size and weight between the two models and is entirely up to the preference of the wearer.
This reference 1501 features a sophisticated design with a white dial topped with black Roman hour markers and silver hands and hour markers. The date aperture is displayed at the 3-hour marker along with a magnifying Cyclops window, adding to its recognizable design.
This particular example, manufactured in 1979 and sold in 1981, is in New Old Stock (NOS) condition, with no wear at all on any parts of the watch. It still well preserves the original case back sticker.
With a drawer condition lume, evenly matching and with a beautiful color, this example offered here is in unbeatable condition.
It comes with the correct bracelet and with the full kit including the hang tag and booklets.
This watch has been sitting in a bank safe for the last 35 years since it was purchased back in 1981 at an official Rolex distributor. The box, paperwork, and even the watch itself, smell new; like just picked up from the Rolex Boutique back.
Indeed, this is a perfect daily beater with so much value for money, for someone who’s looking for a complete brand new affordable vintage Rolex to wear and enjoy, with what all these words mean...
