Today, Regatta or Yachting Chronographs are very desirable, and there’s no wonder why.

Jenny is a watch brand significant as a vintage dive watch expertise. Jenny appears to have made watches for only about 10 years from the early 60's to the early 70's and they are accordingly rare and sought after. The basic movements were ETA to which Jenny added special cases, dials and bezels.

Our research shows that Jenny was probably assembled by other brands like Thermidor, Ollech & Wajs, Valorus, Montressor , Jaquet Droz, Haste deLuxe, Philip and Jenny themselves (to name a few) under a reciprocal arrangement that allowed these brands to sell the Jenny patents with their own branding. The evidence for this is that whilst it is well known that Jenny owned the patents, there is no evidence whatsoever that Jenny had a watch making facility.

This piece is a very, very rare Jenny Yachting / Regatta chronograph ref. 1023. This example has a 38mm excluding the original crown all stainless steel premium and complex case (much more complex than any other Yachting or Regatta cases from other brands due to the dive expertise of Jenny) and up to 20 ATM waterproofed (when others reach only up to 10 ATM). This case is not only special because of how well built it is, but the obvious reference to the well-known UG Space Compax is clearly present. Not only the case, but also the sealed rubber pushers and the screw-down waterproof crown reminds us of the legendary UG Space Compax.

Now, if to this fine steel work, you add a Heuer Skipper regatta look alike dial… you get this absolute beauty. The big-eye yachting right sub register beside the smaller also white left sub, contrasting with the glossy sunburst silver dial makes this piece really special.

It also has bi-directional divers rotating bezel, in excellent condition, and a waterproof case back preserving all the original engravings.

Furthermore, it is powered by the robust Valjoux 7730, hidden under a BREVET case back, with unkown service history but it is running good, the chrono functions work as they should and the watch keeps time.

It comes on an original 20mm Tropic Sport strap that, not only suits the watch perfectly, but it could also perfectly be the original combo.
